Pear Roasted Hazelnut Galette

Pear Roasted Hazelnut Galette is so simple to make and you need only a few ingredients. I use store bought pie crust, Anjou pears, almond milk (for the glaze), and roasted hazelnuts. No cream filling, no fuss, just easy peasy delicious goodness.

For this recipe, I did roast my own hazelnuts, but if you want to save a few minutes, buying roasted hazelnuts is great. You can also make your own pie crust, but for the sake of saving time, I decided to use store-bought, though homemade is preferable. Pear Roasted Hazelnut Galette is perfect as a light dessert with some ice cream or a dollop of whip cream. Or, you can have it for breakfast or for a mid afternoon snack. However you decide, Galette's are great and so versatile for any time of the day!

Pear Roasted Hazelnut Galette

Yields: 1 Galette

Pre-heat oven: 400 degrees F

Prep-time: 5 minutes

Bake-time: 50-60 minutes

Equipment: 1 pie dish, small bowl, pastry brush, fork, paring knife, cutting board, cooling rack.

Ingredients

  • 1 store bought pie crust, room temperature

  • 3 Anjou pears, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup roasted hazelnuts, chopped

  • 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp Demerara sugar

  • 1 tbsp almond milk, or oat milk, or milk for the glaze

Directions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 400 degree F.

  2. Lightly grease your pie dish with non-stick or some butter.

  3. Lay your pie crust over the pie dish and gently push the center down into the pie dish, use a fork to poke holes on the bottom.

  4. Thinly slice your pears and then arrange them in the pie crust center however you like.

  5. Sprinkle the chopped roasted hazelnuts over the pears and center of the pie crust.

  6. Dust cinnamon over the pears and hazelnuts, then sprinkle some sugar.

  7. Fold and overlap the edges half way, this doesn't need to be perfect, it should look rustic.

  8. Brush some milk over the edges, then sprinkle a bit more sugar.

  9. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until the crust is a rich golden brown and the pears are bubbling.

  10. Allow to cool on a cooling rack for about 15- 20 minutes. Then, enjoy as is, or with some ice cream.

  11. Voila!
